Newly Launched Annual Event Supports Growth and Success of Independent Financial Advisor Practices by Providing Comprehensive Education and Training to Sales Assistants
KNOXVILLE, TN (October 5, 2017) – Securities Service Network, Inc. (“SSN” or “the Firm”), a leading independent broker-dealer that specializes in driving industry-leading operating efficiency at the home-office level, today announced the successful conclusion of its first-ever Sales Assistant University program. Held at the Firm’s home office in Knoxville, the two-day educational and training event brought together sales assistants from across the nationwide SSN community, providing these professionals with a unique forum to network with peers, share best practices, receive coaching on SSN’s internal systems and become more familiar with SSN home office management and staff. SSN is a wholly owned subsidiary of Ladenburg Thalmann Financial Services (NYSE MKT: LTS).
Over the course of the event, the attendees participated in customized training sessions covering a range of topics germane to their specialized role, such as cybersecurity best practices and how to most effectively support an independent advisor’s client relationship building efforts. Additionally, there was a series of wide-ranging roundtable discussions led by members of the SSN management team that allowed sales assistants to talk about the most important opportunities and challenges that they face today in their roles.
Wade Wilkinson, President and CEO of SSN, said, “SSN was delighted to welcome sales assistants from around the country to Knoxville for this exciting new event. Thanks to ever-increasing regulatory burdens, changing demographics and a host of other factors, independent advisors today are facing one of the most challenging periods they have ever known. As a result, it is more critical than ever that each of our independent advisors has a professional, dedicated and well-trained support staff that enables the advisor to maximize time and attention on client-facing and strategic issues, rather than routine, operational matters. We felt this was a perfect time for SSN to offer this education and training opportunity for the sales assistants of our advisors, and we look forward to continuing this program for years to come.”
SSN Advisor, Edwin McKnight, said, “When I became aware that SSN was offering Sales Assistant University, I immediately made sure that our administrative team would attend, hoping that the event would allow them to gain greater understanding of their role and SSN’s processes. Not only were my expectations exceeded but the impact on our internal operations has been immediate, with the entire team benefiting from an overall greater level of efficiency.”
